Oleander is a poisonous plant which contains many toxic compounds, which can be deadly to people, particularly children. The toxicity of Oleander is said to be extremely high and iapparently in some cases only a small amount has had lethal or near lethal effects (Goetz 1998). The most important of these toxins are oleandrin and neriine, which are cardiac glycosides.
