Commence sowing the extra early varieties as early as the ground can be worlced in February or Jlarch ; continue for a succession every two weeks until June, then discontinuing until the middle of August, wlien a good crop may be secured b}' sowing the extra early and early sorts for fall use. They should be kept clean, and earthed up twice during growth. The wrinkled varieties are not as hardy as the small hard sorts, and if planted early should have a dry soil, or they are liable to rot iu the ground ; they are, however, the sweetest and best flavored varieties.
