Al Fatah Mosque, Manama, Bahrain
The Al Fateh Mosque is the largest in the island kingdom of Bahrain. It is also home to the Al Fateh Islamic Center, which welcomes people from all faiths. Not an ancient mosque, it was built in the 1990s and will eventually house the kingdom's National Library. If you're in Bahrain and have an extra hour, it is an easy and wonderful place to visit. The architecture is quite striking and cyclopean, while keeping the more traditional details one would expect. Taken shortly after a rare spring rain shower.
