Acrocorinth fortress in Ancient Corinth
Acrocorinth, is the acropolis of ancient Corinth city. It provided an excellent defensive stand since it is on a monolithic limestone rock with 560 meters height. It was first fortified by ancient Greeks but many followed until the 19th century AD when it was abandoned. On top of it was the temple of Aphrodite. Informative signs describe the three defensive lines that made any conquering attempt even harder.
