A Sprinter passenger train passes the now disused, but preserved Armathwaite signal box, on the Settle-Carlisle railway, Cumbria. The signal box is open to the public on certain days with visits managed by the Friends of The Settle-Carlisle Railway. It closed to operational railway use in 1983. The village has an operational station near the old signal box.
