Moldavia a P&O mail steamer had been a mail and passenger carrying vessel operating between the UK and Australia before becoming an armed merchant cruiser in WWI. She was renamed HMS Moldavia but was torpedoed and sunk on 23 May 1918 in the English Channel. One of a set of fifty cigarette cards produced in 1924 under the title Merchant Ships of the World. Produced by and Wills of Bristol and London, a part of Imperial Tobacco Company of Great Britain and Ireland Limited.
