5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (June 3, 2017) Lt. Derya Saydam, from the "Spartans" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 70, reviews a flight plan in an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter before takeoff from the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103). The ship is part of the George Bush Carrier Strike Group deployed in the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
