Mr. MacRorie has just returned from a trip to Los Angeles and other southern points. He reports a strong demand for heathers, the firm having placed an order for 15,000 of the one variety, Erica melanthera. Robert Bernadeau, formerly with MacRorie & McLaren, has accepted a position with Podesta & Baldocchi. Henry O'Day is a new employee at the Powell street store of MacRorie & McLaren. He was formerly with Charles Stappenbeck. John McLaren, superintendent of Golden Gate park, has returned from an extended eastern trip, on which he was accompanied by Mrs. McLaren,. A. J. Rossi, of Pelicano, Rossi & came to town to attend the dahlia show at the St. Francis hotel, and then went to his country place near Los Gates, Cal. Nicholas J. Canevaro, with Pelicano, Rossi & Co., has resumed his duties after a month's vacation in the high Sierras of Trinity county, where he enjoyed himself thoroughly hunting, fishing, etc. His return closes the vacation season at this establishment, with the excep- tion of that of Frank Pelicano, who has only been taking two or three days off at a time. Charles Shellgrain, manager of the J. B. Boland establishment on Kearny street, reports business seasonably good. He has been busy this week with table decorations. The C. Kooyman Co. has improved the appearance of its wholesale establish- ment on Bush street, by the installation of new fixtures for showing bulbs, and MUMS-POMPONS Dire
