The map area falls mainly within the south west corner of Alpes-Maritimes, with the part of the Var in the south west corner of the map. Place names marked on the map include the following (spelling may vary from the modern variation): Castellane, Antibes, Nice, St-Paul-de-Vence, Vence, Cagnes-sur-Mer, St-Laurent-du-Var, Grasse, Biot, Valbonne, Villars-sur-Var
