Flooded fields near Rufford following a breech in the banks of The River Douglas in West Lancashire


Following heavy rain on overnight from Christmas day into Boxing day 2015 the river Douglas in West Lancashire had broken its banks The surrounding farmland suffered extensive flooding and it the environment Agency had to bring in extra pumps to get the water back into the river. Here a few days later the flooded fields are still under a lake of water, while a agency worker surveys the scene
