The length of the wing is mm and of the proboscis mm. The proboscis is entirely with dark scales and the palps covered with dark scales with a small admixture of scattered light scales. Three to five thin spiracular setae, few sternopleural setae and one strong lower mesepimeral seta. Legs with all dark scales, but with subapical light-colored rings on the femora. Wings with distinct spots in the form of accumulations of scales at the bases of R2 and M2, on the distal half of R5 and in the corresponding section on M. The ab- dominal tergites and sternites with dark scales, but scales absent at the bases of most tergites, giving the impression of light bands. The first tergite completely without scales. The male has been described by Dumbleton but we have not been able to procure his research paper (1965). Fourth instar larva (Fig. 88). The head very faindy pigmented. In- ner frontal setae branched, of the same length as the head and roughly one-half the length of the median frontal seta with distinct basal pubescence. The comb on the 8th segment consists of 18-20 166 scales in a single row. Siphon index is The pecten contains.
