Andrew Cowan's 1st New York Artillery Battery, who took part in the defeat of Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysberg represented the end of the Confederate troops northern movement and their defeat at Gettysburg is often seen as the turning point of the war. The battle saw 200,000 men meet in combat, with a combined death count of 8000.
