The wholesalers are able to take care of everyone and, best of all, to make a profit. The new crop of Beauties is coming in and is of unusually fine quality. Some new Killarneys are seen, but they are poor. Asters are advancing rapidly in quality and price, and sweet peas are again manifesting activity, owing to our cool weather and rains, which have also helped other stock. Various Notes. The San Francisco delegation to the Chicago convention was in town Tues- day, August 13. Among them were Mr. and Mrs, Julius Eppstein; H. Flath; Angelo J. Rossi, of Pelicano, Rossi & Co., and Mr. MacRorie, of the MacRorie- McLaren Co. Kansas City held many attractions for them, and after spend- ing a delightful day they boarded a train for St. Louis, the next town to visit on their way. Mr. Parker and wife, of Kellogg's, are attending the convention, after which a trip over the Great Lakes to Niagara Falls and Buffalo is scheduled. Miss Hadden, of Murray's, is at the convention, after which she will con- tinue on her well earned vacation. This firm is now ])ainting and redecorating the interior of the store. Ray Blessing and William Miller, of Rock's, have returned to the city with their families. Mr. Blessing says he is a city man; no country life for him. A new sweet pea specialist has made his appearance. He is P. Montague, formerly of Independence, Mo. Mrs. Bullock, also a new-comer, is now pre- paring to build for the winter t
