July proved to be a hot and un- eomfortablo month. Although maximum temperatures did not exceed 90 degrees on more than ten days, yet the humidity was tar above normal right through the month. The highest tem- perature for the month was 97 degrees and the lowest 58 degrees. The rainfall was the heaviest ever known in the his- tory of the local weather bureau, over six inches falling July 9, and as late as July 30 there was an additional rain- fall of inches. Bain fell on ten days during the month and vegetation at this season of the year never was more luxuriant than it is now. Gladiolus specialists and lovers are reminded of the shoAV to be held at Bos- ton, August 14 and 15.
