The first mainslaid in October, 1S74. were wooden and were•continued in use until March ISSO. when theplant, situated in the City Park, was destroyedby fire but rebuilt in March. 1881. The presentbuildings are situated on East Carroll Street,with modern machinery, and have two largegas holders.
