Flights of stairs lead to the secondterraced quadrangle, which is precisely the same as the loAver one, except that it is smaller;each tier diminishing in size until the summit of the building is reached, and thevisitor treads upon a vast platform, surrounded by a screen of Avhite marble per-forated in every compartment in beautiful designs of arabesques, and having turretedmarble cupolas at the angles. In the centre of this platform stands a fifth sarcophagus,most delicately and beautifully carved, the name of the monarch who sleeps below beinginscribed upon it in gems.
