Vintage Leica M2 35mm rangefinder camera made in 1960 with a Leitz 50mm collapsible Elmar lens.

A vintage Leica M2 rangefinder camera manufactured in Germany in 1960 with a Leitz Elmar 50mm lens which could be collapsed into the body of the camera to make it smaller when travelling. The M2 is a less costly variant of the Leica M3 with a modified rangefinder and frame lines allowing wider angle lenses than the M3, an external manually reset frame counter, and a less ornate top plate. This particular M2 features a delayed-action self-timer although a large number of M2s did not include this option. Although the M2 was meant to be a lesser version of the M3, the M2 became the basis for all future Leica M cameras.
