Concerning the thio- phenic derivatives, some benzothiophenic alkyls disappear to become C5, while the initial alkylate derivatives of dibenzothiophene become C3 ; the naphthobenzothiophenes persisted. In the sampling taken in January 1980, an abnormally high res- ponse is noted — by Flame Ionization Detection (FID) and by Flame 127.
