We are sorry to have to record thedeath of Edward A. Phillips, generalagent of the National Railway Publica-tion Company. His decease took placeon February 26, 1904, at the Red CrossHospital, New York, in the 40th yearof his age. He was born in the town ofWolverhampton, England, and was alineal descendant of Llewellyn, one ofthe early native rulers of Wales. In his youth Mr. Phillips was destinedfor the British navy, and had been pre-pared to enter as a midshipman, whenat the physical examination it was foundthat he was color blind. His inability to.£;ain admission to the Royal Navy didnot prevent his entering the merchantservice, in which he remained someyears. Prior to his coming to the UnitedStates he was connected with the Hull& Barn
