The tradeof the town is principally confined to the exporting of fish,corn, and coals to London and various ports in Scotland, and toforeign countries. There are regular traders between Berwick,London, Leith, Newcastle, and Hull. The salmon fisheries inthe Tweed have for many centuries been very productive, andgreat quantities are packed in ice, and exported to London andother places.
