It is also safe to say that if more brain work were used in an operation in which many thousands of dollars are involved, the loss commonly resulting in the artificial seasoning process would be many times reduced and the saving would greatly exceed the cost of this service and in addition would lielp to conserve our fast disappearing supply of lumber. British Imperial Forest Policy At the recent British Empire Forestry Conference in London, attended by delegates from all parts of the Empire, it was emphasized that "the foundation of a stable forest policy for the Empire and for its component parts must be the collection, co-ordination and dis- semination of facts as to the existing state of the forests and the current and prospective demands on them.
