Four men onCaptain Hales team broke the record for the3-mile course at Andover, Callahan bettering itby 1 minute and 44 seconds in the dual run withHarvard Freshmen when he defeated OConnell, aformer Exeter man with an enviable record, byabout 20 yards, winning by a sprint in the last200 yards.
