22 spot ladybird


A very small yellow and black ladybird (Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata) is a member of the Coccinellidae family. This species is distinguishable by the 22 spots on the bright yellow elytra with black spots on the yellow or white pronotum. Usually found in low vegetation, unlike other ladybirds, this species feeds on mildew. It is found throughout Europe. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
