Walther Heinrich Alfred Hermann von Brauchitsch (4 October 1881 - 18 October 1948) was a German field marshal and the Commander-in-Chief (Oberbefehlshaber) of the German Army during World War II. After the war, Brauchitsch was arrested on charges of war crimes, but he died of pneumonia in 1948 before he could be prosecuted. Ludwig Stummel (5 August 1898 in Kevelaer - 30 November 1983 in Kronberg im Taunus) was a German career signals officer with the rank of Konteradmiral, the Chief of Staff of the Naval Warfare department, Naval Communications (4/SKL) of the Kriegsmarine. Stummel was most notable for being the person responsible for the cryptographical security of the Enigma cipher machine and Key M infrastructure security, during World War II.
