The even warmthwas favorable on crops during the greater part of the month,but the excessive heat during the last week, in connectionwith a condition of unusually low relative humidity of theair and general absence of rain, was detrimental to vegeta-tion of every kind, by reason of wilting during the daytimeand even on some nights.
