The OperatingPavilion The Operating Pavilion is of especialinterest in a war hospital. For thisbuilding, 105 feet in length, the widertype of unit, 28 feet wide with walls10 feet high, has been adopted. Thebuilding lies east and west, so as to insurenorth light all along one side. The Etherizing Room, almost directlyopposite the patients entrance, givesaccess both to the Operating and PlasterRooms, while the west end of the buildingis occupied by the X-Ray service; withdark room, demonstration, and storageroom. [ The WardPavilions The plan of the wards follows veryclosely that of an ordinary surgical hos-pital of peace times. Running north andsouth, the services are grouped at thenorth end, so as to allow the free entranceof the winter sun at the south end. Thisarrangement, while not a necessity insouthern climates, is most desirable in acountry like France, where ever
