Mr. Loomisbegan his railroad career in the law of-fices of the Denver & Rio Grande in 1884 he was appointed secretary^ tothe general superintendent of the NewYork & Lake Erie, and was promoted tochief clerk in 1887, and chief clerk to thegeneral manager in 1892. In 1894 hewas appointed superintendent of the Ti-oga division of the same railroad, and ill 18W he was appointed superintendentof the New York, Susquehanna & West-ern, and the Wilkcs-Barre & the same year he was appointed super-intendent of the Lackawanna in chargeof the mining department. Latterly he. Hoe & Company, New York. In 1886he entered into partnership with Hay, and the firm developed amongother products the first »nvil manufac-tory in America. Albert Clark Stebbins. Mr. Albert C. Stebbins, a vice-presidentof Nilcs-Bcment-Pond Company, 111Broadway, New York, died on February28, at Ilainfield, N. J. He learned themachinist trade in New England, and in1875 was appointed shop superintendentin the Pond shops at Worcester, Stebbins directed the construction ofthe extensive shops at Plainfield, N.
