In the process of purification, no acids, alkalies, or otherchemicals are employed, and no injurious additions of any kind are made to the natural product. Theresult is a semi-solid, translucent substance, with a faint odor and unctuous feel. Cosmoline (Unguentum Petrolei) melts at about 100° Fah. (38° Cent.); and boils at about 625°Fah.
