New York Army National Guard Soldiers from the Queensbury Readiness Center join dozens of military family members and hundreds of friends and community residents for the 13th annual Christmas Eve roadmarch in Glens Falls, December 24, 2016. The nearly four mile road march is organized by retired Sgt. 1st Class Art Coon, a former New York Army National Guard recruiter. Joining Coon in the lead of the roadmarch is New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Adam Barber who Coon enlisted in 2003 and now serves in the same community and Barber’s ten-year-old son Matthew. The annual roadmarch began in 2004 when Coon and a dozen or so volunteers turned out to show support to New York Army National Guard infantry Soldiers from the local Glens Falls armory, then deployed to Iraq.
