View NNE of the Viking-age (C12th) Chapel of St Mary on the cliff overlooking Crosskirk Bay & Ushat Head, Caithness, Scotland, UK. A simple nave & chancel with rubble walls & a pitched roof which was probably thatched. The doorways at the W (L) & E ends of the nave are original, but the S entrance where a window used to be is modern. The square ended burial enclosure at the E (R) end is built on the foundations of the original chance. The Orkney island of Hoy is visible in the distance.
