The Alberta government- sponsored scholarship was presented as a gift to the Queen Mother when she was in Alberta attending the World Angus Forum this summer. The 21-year-old is taking her fourth year in home economics at the University of Alberta. She has excelled academically and has been a member of a number of school organizations. Leona was a 4-H member for nine years, and is currently a member of the Rural Education and Development Association. She has always been very actively involved in her community.
