Juvenile Red Cherry Centipede
Scolopendra subspinipes or Red Cherry Centipede is a species of very large centipede found throughout eastern Asia. One of the most widespread and common species in the genus Scolopendra, this species is also found on virtually all land areas around and within the Indian Ocean, all of tropical and subtropical Asia for example, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. When it is young, the head coloration is blue while its body is yellow or orange. As the centipede reaches adulthood, the entire body will turn red.
