Edward William Watt, eldest son of the late WilliamWatt, one of the proprietors ofthe Aberdeen Free Press, wasborn at Aberdeen, August 25,1877. He served as reporterand sub-editor on the FreePress until 1902, and then wentto the Press Gallery, House ofCommons, remaining there un-til the close of the 1904 returned to Aberdeen thatyear as chief sub-editor of theFree Press, and in 1906 wasappointed editor of the EvenimjGazette.
