22/11/12 Plantation manager, Tom Theobald (28) (right)and Romando Miljons (27) carry freshly cut trees through a muddy field near Cadeby, Leicestershire today. This year's Christmas Tree harvest is running behind schedule at one of Britain's largest producers of the festive trees. Alex Theobald, director of Cadeby Tree Trust in Leicestershire, said: "The older trees have really enjoyed the wet weather this summer - they're in great condition and are really green. But the weather over the last few days has put us back by at least three days. "We're having to take the trees out of the fields individually rather than loading them onto trailers in the mud. "We have to keep the trees clean - people don't want muddy trees in their homes." The company's yard is slowly filling up with trees. They expect to sell 85,000 trees and will begin dispatching to garden centres next week. "If it gets any wetter, the delays could get worse.
