Nuvelle hormone replacement therapy drug. Nuvelle continuous pills in their blister pack. This is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) drug. HRT is used to treat the symptoms of the menopause by replacing female sex hormones. Nuvelle contains oestradiol hemihydrate, a naturally occurring form of oestrogen, and norethisterone acetate, a synthetic form of oestrogen. The pills are taken on a monthly bases to coincide with the menstrual cycle. HRT can also help to prevent osteoporosis. However, side-effects include an increased risk of thrombosis and some forms of cancer.
