The sessions ofthe Conference were most helpful and were a fine preparation for thework of the school year. During the whole month of September the celebrations in honor ofMexicos Centennial were going on, and because of these we openedschool on October 2, a month late. During the whole year the attendance has been good in both theEnglish and Spanish Departments. Miss Buttrick and the Americanteachers are doing fine work in the English grades; Miss Barcroftteaches the Bible classes in both departments. The Spanish work has grown beyond our expectations. We have thesix grades required by the Mexican law, and are correlated with thepublic schools of the Federal District. When we held our first quar-terly examina
