João Diniz, a student actor at the CAL theater school, performs in “Mephisto”. The show, directed by Anna Helena Madruga, tells the story of Hendrik Höfgen, an actor who sells his soul to the devil, by joining the rising Nazis in the 1930s. It is adapted from the novel Mephisto by German author Klaus Mann. CAL, casa das artes de Laranjeiras, is a theater school founded in 1982 in Rio de Janeiro. It is one of Brazil's most renowned private drama schools.
