The coral reefs at Bahia Pulmo are similarly supported by several rows of granite ridges which by chance are long and oriented somewhat parallel to the shore, giving the appearance of a concentric series of more classic fringing coral reefs. There also is a richer algal, invertebrate, and vertebrate reef fauna at Bahia Pulmo. Fig. 5.
