Northern fulmar (Fulmarus glacialis), fulmar, or Arctic fulmar flying around the glacier Burgerbukta, Svalbard. Expedition cruise vessel Greg Mortimer in Svalbard archipelago, Arctic Norway. Burgerbukta is a bay on the south side of Wedel Jarlsberg Land on Spitsbergen that stretches approximately seven kilometers in a northerly direction from the inner part of Hornsund. It is between three and four kilometers wide and seven kilometers long. The bay lies between the rock wall Sofiekammen in the west and Urnetoppen (813 ) in the east and is divided into Vestre and Austre Burgerbukta by Luciakammen. At the bottom of the bay, Paierlbreen flows into Vestre Burgerbukta and Mülbacherbreen into Austre Burgerbukta. The mountain sides are steep. Burger Bay is part of the Sør-Spitsbergen National Park and is named after the Austrian photographer Wilhelm Burger who mapped the area in 1872. Neset Minuttøyra in Austre Burgerbukta is named after the television program Svalbard minute by minute.
