Located in one of the busiest areas of Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, is the Backesto Building. Built in 1873, it was originally a one storey building. However, now the building has seen tremendous changes and it is one of the well-acclaimed architectural monuments in San Diego. It is a classic example of architectural reviving of the classical and the Victorian era.
