There still remains much uiK-ertainty as to the affinities of this species wliich in form lies between the compressed Ordovician Oncoceratiche and the de- pressed bre\icones of the Silurian t\])ified by Aniphicxrfoccras. The prex'iously descri])ed Clinton cei)halopods were listed In- the writer and new ones were described (Flower, 1942). To these are added the new species Mandaloceras chacecr and Goiiiphoccras jezcrffi. In the overl_\ing- Lockport and (kieli)h occiu" the two Shell)) h(jrizons with a rich cephalrjpod assem- blage. The o\erlyin are the striking trodioceroids, Mitroccras ycbliardi (Hall) and Focrstcoceras furhiiiatwn.
