Christian character must beas broad as life. At in the afternoon, 1300 out of 1500scholars marched from the chapel into the newchurch. After the doxology, the first hymnsung was, Come, Thou Almighty were made by Dr. Willard M. Rice,R. S. Walton, Esq , and the Hon. Louis and the Hon. John Wanamaker. MadameSuelke sang, and a congratulatory letter wasread from the Rev. Wm. Brenton Greene, Jr.,D. D., who was unable to be present. The day, which had been cloudy, endedwith a down-pour of rain. The church, how-ever, was filled to its utmost capacity. Mr. William L. Cooke wears on his watchchain a highly-prized gold dollar which waspresented to him during dedication week byDr. Paden. This dollar was given to on the day the ground for the newbuilding was broken and is marked with thatdate— Hollond Memorial, October 23d,1889.
