In 2008 China became the worlds largest emitter of greenhouse gases, fueled by high levels of economic growth and electricity mainly being generated by dirty, highly polluting coal fired power stations. The Chinese are also investing heavily in renewable energy projects. Here a factory in Suihua city in Heilongjiang Province, Northern China manufactures wind turbines.
