I was chatting to a producer from the BBC a while ago and she was lamenting the "brown grey days" of Northern England, she couldn't see the beauty of the landscape shrouded in low cloud and the muted browns of the dark months. For me this is the weather and landscape that is so evocotive of the Lake District, and this shot from Brakenthwaite looking up Holehouuse Gill above the Duddon Valley is a great example of the dramatic beauty of the "brown grey day". Someday I may look to put an exhibition of work together on just this theme!
