A C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, takes off to participate in a nine-ship formation flight during Exercise Defender Pacific 21 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Aug. 2, 2021. Defender Pacific 21 is a Army Pacific exercise that operationalizes the National Defense Strategy by praciticing the strategic deployment, command and control, and employment of combat-credible forces into the region, and supports Indo-Pacific Command's Joint warfighting concepts.
