He then entered the PatersonNational Bank of Paterson, N. J., with which he hassince been connected. He was elected a member of the Township Com-mitte of Little Falls in March, 1903, for a term ofthree years. In May of the same year he was ap-pointed treasurer of the township, and in March,1904, was reappointed to that Is a member of the Royal Van Ness was married, April 14, 1903, InChicago, III., to Miss Kitty Clover. I. ONY AND AS A STATE 141 JOHN T. PLATT, of Orange, Essex County,was born in that place on the loth of Janu-ary, 1853, his parents being John and Mar-garet (Henry) Piatt. He is prominentlyidentified with the business interests of hiscommunity, having been successfully engaged in theplumbing business at Orange since 1882, During thepast twenty years he has been a member of the Boardof Health of Orange, and for some eight years pasthas served as president of that body. He is also man-ager of the Columbus Theatre of Orange. He married Mary Shannon, of Grandville, Wash-ington County, N. Y. Children of this union: Mary,Ada, Helen, Florence, Louise, and Eulalia. TC.
