Battersea Power Station with rusting cranes in front of red brick and broken windows.

A picture of the north front of the much neglected Battersea Power Station with rusting cranes and broken windows. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in the 1920's and built in the 1930's Battersea Power Station supplied 20% of London's electricity until it was decommissioned in 1983. Several Developers have sought permission to develop the site. It is the largest brick building in Europe and has featured in The Beatles' 1965 movie "Help!", Pink Floyd's 1977 album "Animals" and The Jam's 1978 video of the single "News of the World".
