The consequences were double orchitis with permanentinduration of the epididymis and a discharge resembling gonor-rhoea lasting for years, increased desire to micturate, pains in thesmall of the back, congestion of the head, etc. Similar cases, although less pronounced, are frequent, and wemust lay great stress on the danger of these local applications whenthey are not wielded by well-informed and absolutely conscientiousphysicians.
