Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Nürnberger Platz site of former U-bahn station. Now a small square wth OlivenGarten Persian Restaurant at one end. The Nürnberger Platz (Nuremberg Square) was a square designed in 1870 by Johann Anton Wilhelm von Carstenn. In 1904, there was a large convention center on the square and in October 1913, the underground station Nürnberger Platz was opened with a stone entrance designed by Alfred Grenander who lived at Prager Straße (later renamed Grainauer Straße) in an apartment overlooking Nuremberg Square. The surrounding buildings were mostly destroyed during World War ll and replaced with modern structures. The square was reduced to a rectangular green space with trees and a seating area east of Nürnberger Straße and in June 1959, the underground railway station was closed as it was too close to the Spichernstrasse station.
