The dynamic composition, divided into thirds, is unified by the black streaks of rain. Known in Europe, the mastery of this prints composition had a direct impact on western artists in the late nineteenth century. In fact, Vincent Van Gogh was inspired to copy this scene in an oil painting of is the name of the area on the far bank where a massive, 1,500-ton government ship, the Atake-maru, was docked through most of the seventeenth century.
